Ingredients

3 ripe bananas

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

½ teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1 cup cold water (adjust as needed)

½ cup brown sugar

2 tablespoons butter

Cooking oil (for frying)

Optional: powdered sugar for dusting and chopped nuts for garnish

Instructions

Begin by peeling the ripe bananas and slicing them diagonally into about ½-inch thick pieces. Set them aside.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon until well combined.

Gradually add the cold water to the dry mixture, stirring continuously until you achieve a smooth batter. The batter should be thick enough to coat the back of a spoon but not too thick that it doesn't smoothly flow. Adjust the water or flour as needed.

Heat about 1 inch of cooking oil in a large frying pan over medium heat until hot.

Dip each banana slice into the batter, ensuring it is fully coated, and carefully place it in the hot oil. Fry in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan.

Cook the bananas for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until they are golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to remove them and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.

In a separate small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat, then stir in the brown sugar. Allow it to melt together until bubbly and syrupy, about 2 minutes.

Transfer the fried bananas to a serving plate and drizzle the brown sugar sauce over them while they are still warm.

If desired, dust with powdered sugar and sprinkle with chopped nuts for added crunch and flavor.
