Instructions
In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until translucent.
Add the minced garlic and ground meat to the pot, cooking until the meat is browned and cooked through. Drain any excess fat.
Stir in the Italian seasoning and red pepper flakes (if using), cooking for another minute to enhance the flavors.
Pour in the crushed tomatoes and broth, bringing the mixture to a boil.
Add the broken lasagna noodles and cook for about 10-12 minutes, or until the noodles are tender.
Reduce the heat to low, then stir in the ricotta cheese and heavy cream, mixing until well combined and creamy.
Fold in the shredded mozzarella cheese and grated Parmesan cheese, stirring until melted and incorporated.
Season with salt and pepper to taste. Allow it to simmer for an additional 5 minutes for the flavors to meld.
Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil leaves for added aroma and aesthetic appeal.
