Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 0.5 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.25 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 0.5 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 12 slider buns slider buns
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 bunch fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, dried oregano, salt, black pepper, and chopped parsley. Mix until well combined.
  3. Form the chicken mixture into 12 small patties, making sure they are slightly smaller than the slider buns.
  4. In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the patties and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and cooked through. (You may need to do this in batches).
  5. Once the patties are cooked, place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Spoon a tablespoon of marinara sauce over each patty, followed by a generous sprinkle of mozzarella cheese.
  6. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Slice the slider buns in half. On the bottom half of each bun, place a chicken patty. Top with additional marinara sauce if desired, and a basil leaf for garnish. Place the top half of the bun over the chicken.
  8. Brush the tops of the buns with the remaining olive oil for added flavor and a shiny finish. Serve warm!

💡 Chef's Notes
