Ingredients

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 2 cups almond milk (or any milk of choice)
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup (or honey)
  • 1 apple diced (preferably a sweet variety)
  • 1/4 cup walnuts or pecans, chopped
  • a pinch salt

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl or a mason jar, combine the rolled oats, almond milk, chia seeds, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, maple syrup, and salt.
  2. Stir well to ensure all the oats are evenly coated and submerged in the liquid.
  3. Gently fold in the diced apple and chopped nuts, reserving a few for topping.
  4. Cover the bowl or seal the jar with a lid and place it in the refrigerator overnight (or for at least 4 hours).
  5. In the morning, give the mixture a good stir to combine. If the oats are too thick, add a splash of additional milk to reach your desired consistency.
  6. Serve the oats in bowls, topped with extra diced apple, chopped nuts, and a sprinkling of cinnamon if desired.

💡 Chef's Notes

Serve in mason jars or clear cups to showcase the beautiful layers, and garnish with a drizzle of maple syrup or a dollop of yogurt for extra creaminess.
