Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably Italian-seasoned)
  • 0.5 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 large egg
  • 0.5 cup marinara sauce (for dipping)
  • 0 fresh basil leaves (for garnish)
  • 0 salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
  2. In a bowl, combine breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  3. In another bowl, beat the egg until frothy.
  4. Dip each chicken piece into the egg, allowing excess to drip off. Then, coat each piece in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere the crumbs.
  5. Arrange the coated chicken bites in a single layer in the air fryer basket, making sure they aren't touching for even cooking. You may need to work in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
  6. Air fry the chicken bites at 400°F (200°C) for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F or 75°C).
  7. Once cooked, remove the bites from the air fryer and serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping.
  8. Garnish with fresh basil leaves for a burst of color and flavor.
